You could send me an email with a link to the PDF so I can see it — my email is [email protected] , and I am happy to take a look. Regards, Kelly. When people click on it, I want a new WordPress tab to open that shows the contents of the pdf.
Is this possible using WordPress. Here you would need to create a main menu, and then add a custom link to that main menu. Save the menu. To open in a new window is another step. Hi Laura, I agree, there are some issue with Gutenberg that need to be worked out. Not being able to easily link to files from within a block is unacceptable. There are a couple things you can do to work around the PDF issue.
That allows you to continue to use the classic editor with WordPress 5. If you want to continue using the Block editor, you can link to pdf files by going to the Media manager and copying the pdf link. Then create a link in the list and paste the pdf url. Before you move forward, make sure you have the PDF document to upload. Select the PDF file and upload it. This is as easy as when you upload any other image.

To get the download link, you first have to upload your file to your Media Library. Then WordPress will generate one for each file automatically. You can edit this link as well. Instead of having to open a blog post and viewing your images or PDFs there, users can access and download them right with the download links. Related wikiHows How to. How to. About This Article.
